From a Queens Session to Six Markets

Bodega Boyz started like many stoner friend groups' best ideas: in a circle, passing something around. A group of friends who grew up together in Queens each brought the best flower they'd found to a session to compare notes.

A few joints later, the conversation turned to what they could build if they went looking for better flower and better ways to smoke it. Five years on, that conversation has turned into a brand sold in six markets, packaged with the look of the New York corner store, and backed by a team that still runs it privately.

Paras Chhabra came to cannabis from retail and fashion. Before Bodega Boyz, he owned dozens of T-Mobile and Sprint stores and worked in fashion marketing for Von Dutch, according to Honeysuckle Magazine. He traveled abroad to learn from breeders, geneticists, and growers before the brand launched.

Today, it has since added markets on both coasts and in the Midwest.

"I'm happy to be able to represent New York cannabis all over the world," Chhabra told Honeysuckle in 2023.

Built Like a Bodega

Bodega Boyz names its products off the corner-store counter. Loosies, a 1.25-gram diamond-infused pre-roll, takes its name from cigarettes sold as singles. Chopped Cheese, a 1.25-gram pre-roll with a center-pressed bubble hash core, is named for the sandwich New York bodegas made famous. Shorties come five to a pack: 0.7-gram, diamond-infused pre-rolls. The flower bags take their design cues from the corner store's shelves.

The team describes three values behind the brand:

  • Community and culture: "We believe in the power of cannabis to bring people together, fostering a community built on mutual respect and passion for the plant."
  • Innovation and quality: "Continuously pushing the boundaries of product development to deliver exceptional quality that sets industry standards."
  • Resilience and determination: "Inspired by the relentless spirit of our immigrant roots, we strive for excellence through hard work and perseverance."

Deuces: Two Strains in One Vape

Bodega Boyz says it pioneered the dual-chambered vape in the regulated market. Its Deuces all-in-one device comes in 1-gram and 2-gram sizes and holds two live resin strains in separate chambers, so one vape delivers three flavor combinations: the first strain, the second, or both together.

Current Deuces pairings on retail menus include Hi-C with Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Strawberry Haze with Blueberry Certz in New York, and Passion Fruit Diesel with Green Apple Kush in California.

Every Bodega Boyz pre-roll, from Shorties to Loosies to Chopped Cheese, uses a ceramic tip. The brand also sells the cones separately. Its ceramic-tip pre-rolled cones come in 0.5-gram, 1-gram, and 2-gram sizes, in refined white or unbleached brown paper, through the Bodega Boyz shop and Amazon.

A Championship Ride Through New York

Bodega Boyz is a New York brand, and New York's year belonged to the Knicks. During the 2026 NBA postseason, the team wrapped one of its vehicles in Bodega Boyz and Knicks branding and drove it to dispensary partners across the city.

The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in the Finals for their first championship in 53 years. For the Bodega Boyz team, the payoff was pulling up to partner stores in a Knicks-wrapped truck while the city celebrated.

"Driving it around town and stopping at our dispensary partners and seeing all the love and energy was incredible," the team said.

This October, New York Goes Pink

"Cancer impacts everyone," the Bodega Boyz team said. The brand wants to support cancer research and the individuals and families affected by the disease.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bodega Boyz is giving a portion of its New York sales this October to Pink Cans 4 Cancer, the public name of Recycling 4 A Cure, a Long Island 501(c)(3). The nonprofit partners with local businesses that donate cans, bottles, and cash, and the proceeds help support young women with breast cancer. It has raised more than $122,000 to date.

Forty-two New York dispensaries are taking part, from Kaya Bliss and The Emerald in Brooklyn to Terp Bros in Queens, Strain Stars on Long Island, Root 9 in the Hudson Valley, and Mango in Rochester. The full list of participating stores is on the Bodega Boyz site.

"Bodega Boyz Is for Everyone": What's Next

The team says it's inspired by "constantly evolving our products and processes to help get Bodega Boyz into more people's hands."

The next step is a new line built around the brand's own tagline, "Bodega Boyz is for everyone." The line is designed to deliver a high-quality customer experience at an affordable price point. Bodega Boyz hasn't announced a name or launch date yet.
